A Guy Got Arrested For DUI After Bags Of Heroin Were Found In His Car And Whoops They Were Actually Human Ashes
FOX NEWS- When police in Maine pulled over an allegedly impaired driver early Saturday, they thought that two small plastic bags inside the car probably contained heroin. But it turns out that the powdery substance was actually the cremated remains of the father of the vehicle’s owner, a report said. Kevin Curtis, 57, said he recently received his father’s ashes from his sister in Florida, and still had them inside the vehicle when he loaned the car to his friend, Jesse Legendre, 31. Police spotted the bags when they pulled over Legendre and arrested him on suspicion of impaired driving. With Legendre at the wheel, the vehicle had swerved off a road, crashed into a utility pole, and landed in a ditch, CentralMaine.com reported.
Classic mix up here. We’ve seen it a million times. Heroin, human ashes. Tomato, tomahto. Basically the same thing. You gotta feel like a REAL asshole if you’re one of those cops. That’s the type of thing that stays with you for your entire police career. Almost no one takes you seriously from that point on. Those cops will forever be know as the guys who mistook heroin for human ashes and hauled a guy to jail over it. You have to switch professions if you’re them. You have to.
The most confusing part of the story, though, is that the ashes weren’t family members of the guy who got arrested. The guy was borrowing his friend’s car and the ashes were in the car when he got pulled over. What the hell? Why the fuck did the owner of the car jus stash the human remains of his parents in his car? That doesn’t seem like a worthy resting place at all. People travel all the way across the world to scatter their loved ones ashes in specials places. The cliffs of Ireland. The Pacific Ocean. The Grand Canyon. Lambeau Field. All memorable places. It’s a very special and emotional experience. Not for this guy apparently. This dude in the story threw his dead parents in the glove box of his car like a cigar cutter. Sad to see.
